Standardisierungsausschuss Treffpunkt Standardisierung: Projekte, Konzepte und Kooperationen ABSTRACT Umstieg auf internationale Formate und Regelwerke (MARC21, AACR2) Future developments of Anglo-American bibliographic standards AACR2 and MARC21 are subject to permanent revision processes. Moreover there are ideas and concepts to replace MARC21 by another format, e. g. XML. Regarding the code the new model Functional Requirements of Bibliographic Records (FRBR) could deliver the basis for future cataloguing. International authority files enabling cataloguers to use their national languages for headings could make dispensable the discussions about different heading forms. Having this background in mind the American consultant „The Stillwater Group" evaluated the current state of these developments and whether they influence the AACR2 and MARC21 as well as when results are to be expected.
