How to travel to Frankfurt (Main)

Connection with regional trains
The regional station for S-Bahn (suburban trains), regional and local trains is located in Terminal 1 at level 0. The suburban train lines 2, 3, 55 S8, S9 and the local trains 2, 3 and 55 stop at the regional station of the airport. Between Frankfurt central station and airport regional station the suburban trains S8 and S9 operate at least every 15 minutes, and during the night hours every 30 to 60 minutes.

Connection with bus
The busses stop at level of Terminal 1 at the bus station in front of the arrival area and at Terminal 2 in front of the arrivals and departures area. Please note that only the lines AIR, 61 und 62 stop at Terminal 2. The Sky Line or the shuttle bus connect Terminal 2 with Terminal 1 and with the bus station.

The fast connection between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2
Follow the signs to the Sky Line at the departure area of Terminal 1. The Sky Line operates every two minutes to Terminal 2. Or you use the free shuttle busses which are located 2 levels above the platform level directly next to the arrival area B and C. Follow the signs in the direction of Terminal 2.

Arriving by Train

The main station consists of several levels. The trains of long-distance traffic and regional traffic arrive in the terminus station above ground which has 24 rails. These rails are connected by a concourse and a tunnel which is located in the middle of the platforms. The tram stops are also above ground in front of the main building (exit main hall at rail 12 and 13) as well as in front of the exit “Mannheimer Straße” which is situated at the south side of the concourse near rail 1.
The bus station is also in front of the main building.

You can reach the S-Bahn and the U-Bahn station through the B-level with stairs, lifts and escalators.

The S-Bahn station is also directly connected with the concourse. Visually impaired persons can orientate themselves with the help of an optical-tactile guidance system.

Directions to the Congress Center

From Frankfurt am Main train station you can reach the Congress Center:

• with the tram 16 (direction of Ginnheim) or 17 (direction of Rebstockbad) and exit at “Festhalle/Messe”. It is the third station from main train station. To reach the tram station please take the main exit of the train station.
• with the underground U4 (direction of Bockenheimer Warte) to exit “Festhalle/Messe“ (1 station), please take the exit “Eingang City“, “Festhalle/Congress Center”
• by walking approximately 10 – 15 minutes from Düsseldorfer Straße, cross the Platz der Republik to Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage. As a good orientation you can always look for the fair-tower which is only a few steps from the Congress Center.
• with the taxi to the entrance “Congress Center“
• with S-Bahn S3 (direction of Bad Soden), S4 (direction of Kronberg), S5 (direction of Bad Homburg/Friedrichsdorf) or S6 (direction of Groß-Karben/Friedberg) 2 stations to the S-Bahn-station “Messe“, then walk through the VIA Mobile to the Congress Center. An elevator will bring you from the platform to the entrance “Torhaus”.

Scheduling

For a rough calculation please plan:

• 30 minutes from airport terminal 1 to terminal 2
• 15 minutes travel time with the S8 or S9 to the main train station (S-Bahn trains depart every 15 minutes)
• 5 minutes travel time + 5 minutes walking time from the main train station to the congress center (alternatively complete walking distance is 15 minutes)

Public Transportation System

A ticket for the public transportation* system of the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) for the city of Frankfurt (including airport) and Offenbach is included in the registration fee and is valid from 30 May to 02 June.

The congress name badge serves as your ticket for the public transportation system.
